Parents and guardians often seek baptism for their children to ground them in the Christian faith, to give thanks for the gift of their child and to ask God&#8217;s blessing on their future. Adults who wish to explore and profess the Christian faith can also be baptised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the service, water is used as a symbol of new life and God&#8217;s grace. Parents and godparents make promises to support the child as they grow in faith and learn to walk with God in their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At St Mark&#8217;s, we understand that families come to Baptism from many different backgrounds. Some have been part of church life for years, while others may be visiting church for the first time.
